The meeting began with a motion to approve the extension of Skyline Road to Gansill Road in San Tan Valley, a project that has been in the works for several years. Pinal County Attorney Kent Volkmar responded to Revelis's concerns by outlining a new $423,000 grant aimed at combating human trafficking. This funding, secured through the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs, will support various training programs for law enforcement and prosecutors. Volkmar noted that the grant will facilitate six in-person conferences and nearly a dozen virtual training sessions, covering topics such as victim advocacy, the intersection of drug and human trafficking, and the use of technology in investigations.

Volkmar acknowledged the ongoing challenges posed by human trafficking, particularly in light of the county's proximity to major urban areas and events that attract large crowds. He emphasized the need for continuous training and adaptation within law enforcement to effectively address evolving tactics used by traffickers.
