Chief Eads provided an update on fire and EMS training, highlighting recent departmental training sessions focused on burn management and pediatric burns. The committee also noted the completion of fire safety inspections across all schools in the area.
Significant legislative actions were taken, including the approval of easements for two school properties recently deeded to the city, which will facilitate the development of a dentist office and a funeral home. This legislation was passed with a unanimous vote and will be sponsored by Mr. Stahl.
The committee discussed the potential implementation of a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) in the downtown area, with Mayor Klausner indicating that feedback from local businesses has been largely supportive.
