Speedway Parks and Recreation is gearing up for its annual trunk or treat event, set to take place on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 5 to 6:15 PM at Speedway High School's back parking lot. Families are encouraged to bring their children dressed as ghouls, goblins, and other festive characters for an evening of fun and trick-or-treating.

Local groups and businesses still have the opportunity to participate by decorating a vehicle or space to distribute candy. Interested parties can reach out via email at tsmitth@speedwayin.gov for more information.

In addition to trick-or-treating, the event will feature a pumpkin decorating contest. Participants are invited to bring their already decorated pumpkins, which can be carved, painted, or crafted from plastic. Guests will have the chance to vote for their favorites, and prizes will be awarded for the top three best-decorated spaces.

This year's trunk or treat promises to be a spooktacular event, fostering community spirit and providing a safe environment for families to celebrate Halloween.
