In a recent government meeting, the commendable actions of Deputy Matt Grama were highlighted following a critical incident in Bainbridge Township. On July 26, 2024, Deputy Grama responded to a domestic violence call that escalated when the suspect climbed onto a roof and threatened suicide while armed with a handgun.

Upon arrival, Deputy Grama quickly located the individual and initiated a dialogue that lasted approximately one hour. His ability to communicate effectively and de-escalate the situation was pivotal, allowing other officers to safely evacuate the pregnant victim and her one-year-old child from the residence.

Thanks to Deputy Grama's composed negotiation skills, the suspect ultimately surrendered, putting down the weapon and descending from the roof. He was subsequently arrested and transported to jail. The sheriff acknowledged that without Deputy Grama's intervention, the situation could have ended much more tragically.
