In a recent board meeting, significant developments were announced regarding the relocation of athletic facilities and the expansion of career and technical education programs in local junior high schools.

The board approved the first phase of a project to relocate high school baseball and softball fields from Prosper Junior High School to the Prosper High School campus on Bethel Road. This initial phase will utilize contingency funds for site preparation, which includes constructing concession stands, restrooms, dugouts, batting cages, and essential electrical work. Plans for the second phase are already underway, which will encompass field drainage, concrete curbing, turf installation, and additional features such as bases, guardrails, netting, grandstands, and lighting.

In addition to athletic developments, the board discussed enhancing career technical options for junior high students. A new 18-week course titled \"We Build It Better\" is set to be introduced, focusing on workforce skills such as design, 3D printing, and programming. This curriculum aims to equip students with practical skills and entrepreneurial knowledge, culminating in a project where they must design and market their own product. The program is currently being piloted at Lacey Springs, with plans to expand to more junior high schools.
