In a recent government meeting, officials unveiled an ambitious plan to rebrand and renovate the Apple Valley Family Aquatic Center, transforming it into the Splash Valley Waterpark by the summer of 2025. The rebranding will feature a new logo and mascot, an otter, prominently displayed throughout the facility, including on signage and play features.
The project aims to modernize the 25-year-old facility, enhancing accessibility and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Key improvements will include updated concrete slopes, door hardware, and the addition of an adult changing station. Signage will be upgraded to include braille, ensuring inclusivity for all visitors. An ADA consultant has reviewed the proposed changes to ensure compliance with relevant codes.

Subscribe for Free Landscaping enhancements are also planned, with efforts to improve the facility's curb appeal and the aesthetics of the lazy river area. Pool renovations will involve replastering both pools and gel coating the slides to extend their lifespan. Additional features will include updated pool gutters and stair slides.
To address visitor comfort, the concession stand will receive upgrades, including shaded areas for patrons waiting in line and improved service layouts to expedite customer service. The facility will also see the installation of emergency gates to provide alternative exits in case of emergencies.
In a move towards sustainability, the waterpark will replace its sand-based pool filters with regenerative media filters, which are expected to reduce water usage by approximately 790,000 gallons annually and decrease electricity consumption by about 21,000 kilowatt hours.
Overall, the Splash Valley Waterpark project represents a significant investment in community recreation, aiming to create a more enjoyable and accessible environment for all visitors.
