In a recent government meeting, officials discussed several key topics, including the successful payoff of a mortgage security agreement with KTC Holdings and the favorable health insurance rates for employees in 2025.

KTC Holdings has fully paid off its loan, resulting in a zero balance. The mayor is set to sign the release of the security agreement and mortgage in June, marking a significant milestone for the company. Additionally, it was noted that KTC Holdings has approached the government for further financial assistance, indicating ongoing collaboration.

The meeting also highlighted the health insurance rates for the upcoming year, which showed a modest increase of just 0.3% for medical coverage. This is considered a favorable outcome, especially following an 8.3% decrease in rates the previous year. Dental and vision insurance rates will remain unchanged, and the current medical carrier will continue to provide services. Officials credited the Indiana Association of Towns and Cities for facilitating these beneficial rates.

Furthermore, the wellness committee has approved a $750 Health Savings Account (HSA) match for employees, continuing a practice from previous years. This initiative aims to support employee health and wellness.

In addition to these discussions, the council approved the return of deposits from two events held at the banquet hall, with funds allocated to the Scott County Community Foundation and Leadership Southern Indiana. Plans were also shared for enhancing the event space, including the transformation of a garage area into a rental venue for various events, including weddings.
