During a recent government meeting, a proposal for a foreign language exchange trip to Germany was presented, highlighting the educational and cultural benefits for students at DY High School. The trip is scheduled for April 22 to May 3, 2024, coinciding with both the school’s and the German partner high school's vacation periods, allowing students to immerse themselves in the local educational system.

The exchange program, which has a longstanding tradition at DY, aims to provide students with a unique opportunity to attend a German high school, live with host families, and engage deeply with the culture and language. Approximately 15 students are expected to participate, with a maximum cost of $2,000 per student, which can be offset by various fundraising efforts and scholarships provided by the Cook family.

Michael O'Reilly, a student who participated in the previous exchange, shared his positive experience, emphasizing personal growth and the development of lifelong friendships. The program not only enhances language skills but also fosters cultural awareness and global citizenship among participants.
