Hip Hop Unity Day celebrates culture and community engagement

A new community event, Hip Hop Unity Day, is set to take place on Saturday, September 28, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This inaugural celebration aims to unite individuals from diverse backgrounds through music, dance, art, and education, emphasizing cultural heritage and fostering inclusivity among community members.

The event is designed to provide a platform for young people to connect with positive role models while learning about the history of hip hop and exploring their creative potential. Preparations for Hip Hop Unity Day will begin early, with setup starting at 8:00 a.m. on the day of the event. A walkthrough inspection is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. with representatives from the special events committee to ensure everything is in place.

Fourth Street will be closed to traffic from Broadway to Cherry Street to accommodate the festivities, creating a vibrant space for attendees to engage in various activities throughout the day.
