The meeting commenced with the approval of the agenda and minutes from previous meetings. President Vicki Skateman then introduced the first proclamation, recognizing June 2024 as LGBTQ+ Pride Month. The proclamation emphasized the village's support for equality and freedom from discrimination, celebrating the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community to Oak Park's cultural and economic landscape. It acknowledged the historical significance of the Stonewall Uprising and the ongoing need for education and awareness to combat prejudice. The proclamation also announced the second annual Oak Park Pride Party, scheduled for June 22, 2024, featuring family-friendly activities.

Bob highlighted the importance of acceptance and inclusivity in the community, reinforcing that everyone deserves to live authentically.
Following the LGBTQ+ proclamation, the board moved to recognize the Oak Park River Forest High School boys track and field team for winning the IHSA Class 3A state championship, their first in 37 years.
