During a recent government meeting, Bountiful Ridge Parks Director Brock Hill presented a proposal to adjust golf course fees, citing rising operational costs and the need for future capital projects. Hill emphasized that Bountiful Ridge has maintained its reputation as a premier golf facility, both statewide and nationally, due to its commitment to quality and fair pricing.
The proposed changes include a $2 increase in daily green fees per nine holes and a $1 increase in daily golf cart rental fees per nine holes. Hill noted that despite these increases, the fees would remain competitive compared to other local golf courses, particularly in light of the heightened demand for golfing that has persisted since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Council members expressed support for the fee adjustments, recognizing the necessity of keeping the golf course financially sustainable. One council member raised concerns about competition from nearby courses, questioning whether the fee increase might deter golfers from neighboring areas. Hill reassured the council that the demand for rounds remains strong and that the proposed increases are reasonable given the current market conditions.
The council is expected to deliberate further on the proposal, which aims to ensure that Bountiful Ridge can continue to provide quality golfing experiences while addressing the financial realities of operating a public golf course.
