The county will receive a supplemental funding stream of $84,714 to support positive youth development and juvenile delinquency prevention programs. This funding is crucial for local agencies and municipalities as they work to foster a supportive environment for youth.

Additionally, an agreement with Captain Community Human Services Inc. was authorized to provide services for runaway homeless youth, totaling $76,243. Saratoga County will act as a pass-through entity, reimbursing expenses related to this program with funds from the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.

The meeting also addressed the acceptance of $1,020,000 in environmental health transition funds from the New York State Department of Health and Health Research Inc. This funding will be used to amend the 2024 county budget, allowing the public health department to administer mandated environmental health programs that were previously managed by the state.

Furthermore, an agreement with Speak Sobriety LLC was approved for substance abuse prevention programming, utilizing $60,000 from opioid settlement funds. This initiative will include a 12-day tour across all Saratoga County School Districts, where Stephen Hill will engage students on mental health and substance use prevention topics.
