During a recent Guilford County government meeting, officials approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, aimed at enhancing child support services and Medicaid expansion efforts. The MoU was unanimously authorized, with commendations directed towards the staff for their performance in meeting key performance measures, particularly in areas such as collections and paternity establishment.
The meeting also included the reappointment of James L. Donnelly and Guy Gullick to the Guilford County Planning Board, both receiving unanimous support from the commissioners.
County Manager Lori noted the successful completion of the budget process, thanking the board for their diligence and patience. She highlighted the recognition received by the county's emergency services and social services teams, which were awarded by the National Association of Counties for their innovative Adult Resource Team. This program, designed to connect individuals in need with appropriate services, was recognized as one of the best in the country, showcasing Guilford County's commitment to effective human services.
