In a celebratory gathering, several high schools were recognized for their outstanding athletic achievements at the recent GHSA awards ceremony. Central High School emerged as a notable winner, clinching the GHSA Region 7 4A championships in both girls and boys track, as well as in girls tennis and boys golf. Additionally, team member Christopher Dedman was honored as the 2024 4A All-State player.
Mount Zion High School also made headlines, securing the GHSA Region 71A Division 2 Championship in boys track. Coaches and team members were present to accept their accolades, highlighting the school's commitment to excellence in athletics.
Temple High School showcased its prowess in boys tennis, winning the GHSA Region 4 1A Division 1 Championship. The team, along with Coach Tiffany Bright, celebrated their achievement with pride.
Billerica High School was recognized for its success in baseball, winning the GHSA Region 5 5A championship. Coach Wade Bailey and team members were on hand to accept their award, marking a significant milestone for the school.
Central High School continued its winning streak by securing the GHSA State 4A Veil Championship for the second consecutive year, with team member Owen Wilkinson accepting the award.
Lastly, Temple High School triumphed in the GHSA State 1A Division 1 Boys 100 Meter Dash and 4x100 Meter Championship, with team members Manny Wilkinson, CJ Gray, JD Pinson, and McLean McEdder, alongside Coach Ed Silva, celebrating their remarkable achievements.
