During a recent city council meeting, members voted on a proposal to approve the placement of a new circus mural on a city wall located at 780 South Tiam Miami trailhead. The initiative, recommended by the Citizens Advisory Board, aims to replace an existing mural that has deteriorated over time.
Harry Clinkamer, the historical resources manager for the city of Venice, along with Lynn Field from the Vabi Public Art Committee, presented the details of the project. Clinkamer explained that the plan includes necessary repairs to the wall before the new mural is painted. He confirmed that the application had also received approval from the airport director, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
The council members engaged in a brief discussion regarding the proposal, with some expressing interest in a presentation of the mural's design. However, no public comments were registered prior to the vote. The council ultimately moved forward with the decision, indicating a commitment to enhancing the community's artistic landscape while preserving its historical elements.
