During a recent government meeting, concerns were raised regarding the communication breakdown between the registrar of voters and local school officials in Sonal. Resident Charles Idelson, who is directly affected by an ongoing recall process, expressed frustration over the lack of transparency and responsiveness from election officials, specifically mentioning Mr. Dupuy and Cynthia Cornejo.
Idelson highlighted that communications intended for the school board have been misdirected to the superintendent, resulting in critical information not being relayed back to the board. He noted that his inquiries to the registrar's office often go unanswered, which he described as disappointing and concerning.
Furthermore, Idelson pointed out that the election budget has not been approved by the Board of Supervisors, raising additional worries about the integrity of the election process. He urged the government to allow public oversight of the election, advocating for a 100% manual tally of votes, especially given the small size of the district, which has only about 150 voters.
Idelson's call for transparency and accountability reflects broader concerns about electoral integrity and the need for effective communication between election officials and the community.
