Dodge, who has owned the property for 20 years, explained that he had been operating the house as a shared living space until a recent inspection revealed it was classified as a rooming house. This classification necessitated the application for a conditional permit to continue its operation.

During the meeting, community member Chris Jones presented a petition with 28 signatures from local residents opposing the permit. Jones emphasized the importance of maintaining the neighborhood's charm and integrity, stating that the community is deeply invested in preserving its warm and familiar environment.
