In a historic moment for the Pembroke Elementary community, the school board recognized Eli Lamb, a national champion archer, during its July meeting. Eli recently triumphed at the NASP Archery Championship Tournament held in Daytona, Florida, where he showcased his skills against top competitors from across the nation.
Eli, representing Pembroke Elementary, excelled in both the bull's eye and IVO 3D competitions, achieving an impressive score of 289 in the IVO 3D event. His performance included hitting 19 perfect bullseyes out of 30 arrows, which secured him the title of the 2024 NASP IVO elementary boy champion. This remarkable achievement placed him first among 242 elementary archers, with some events featuring as many as 800 competitors.
The school board meeting, which commenced with a moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance, was marked by a sense of pride as board members gathered to honor Eli's accomplishments. This recognition not only highlights Eli's individual talent but also underscores the growing prominence of archery programs in Kentucky schools.
