In a recent government meeting, educators from local high schools celebrated significant achievements in student competitions, highlighting the success of programs aimed at fostering creativity and leadership among youth.
Desert Hills High School was commended for its outstanding performance in a national photography contest, where a junior student was recognized for his exceptional work. Meanwhile, Pine View High School also made headlines by securing first place in the state for high school t-shirt design, with student Abby Rosenberg finishing fifth at the national level.
The meeting also featured a presentation from the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), showcasing the accomplishments of students from Dixie High School and other institutions. Ashley Bench, a mentor for the FCCLA program, shared her excitement about the participation of students Anna Carnivale and Anna Huntington, who achieved gold at the state level and sixth place nationally. Their success has set a high standard for future participants in the program.
Dixie High School's Ashley Christianson also highlighted the achievements of her students, including Kylie Bangerton and Elsie Christiansen, who won first place at nationals for their professional presentation. Additionally, Spencer Draper earned fifth place in the nutrition and wellness category at the national competition.
