On April 8, 2024, Special Agent Garrett Ray discovered an unresponsive male experiencing a fentanyl overdose near the capital complex. Senior Trooper Jason Melson arrived shortly after, assessing the situation and administering Narcan. Despite initial efforts yielding no improvement, a second dose stabilized the subject, who regained consciousness. For his decisive actions, Trooper Melson was awarded the lifesaving award.

Earlier, on January 18, 2024, Trooper Ernesto Della Pena responded to a distressing situation involving an infant choking in a vehicle. Recognizing the urgency, he performed back blows that ultimately dislodged a plastic cap, allowing the infant to breathe normally again. His quick thinking earned him a lifesaving award as well.

In another incident on August 30, 2023, Trooper Christopher McCormick faced a dangerous confrontation while assisting in the arrest of a suspect wanted on multiple charges. After being physically assaulted, he received unexpected help from neighbors Angelica and Robert Saldanha, who intervened to protect him. Their bravery was acknowledged with the director's award.

Trooper Jimmy Spraggins also received recognition for his response to a vehicle rollover crash on November 18, 2023. He was assisted by Stevie Brewster, who risked her safety to carry two injured juveniles away from a burning vehicle. Brewster's courageous actions earned her the director's award.
