In a recent government meeting, plans for a new community development in Hideout were discussed, focusing on the construction of three indoor covered pickleball courts intended for community use. The proposal aims to serve not only the residents of the new development but the entire Hideout community, allowing for membership options that are still under consideration.
The pickleball courts are designed to provide recreational opportunities year-round, particularly during adverse weather conditions, such as windy afternoons common in the area. The development will also include a commercial component, with plans for a clubhouse that would initially serve the entire community. However, concerns were raised regarding the fairness of funding such amenities, as the costs would disproportionately fall on the 125 homes in the new development.
The project has undergone significant revisions, reducing the number of townhome units by approximately 40 and adjusting the overall lot count to 125 residential lots and 20 townhome lots. The smallest lots will be designated as Lakeview lots, with further adjustments made to enhance the overall layout and aesthetics of the community.
Additionally, discussions included plans to modify the terrain by removing a portion of a hill to create space for parking and improve access to the trail system. This alteration aims to facilitate better connectivity within the community while addressing the need for fill material in the construction process.
The meeting highlighted the ongoing efforts to balance community needs with development goals, as stakeholders navigate the complexities of planning and funding shared amenities.
