Community leaders unite to tackle affordable housing crisis

In a recent government meeting, Alexis, a director of the local real estate foundation, provided an update on ongoing efforts to address the affordable housing crisis in Lake Wells. Despite the project being tabled once again, Alexis emphasized the foundation's commitment to working closely with the city over the past few months to ensure the land is suitable for building affordable homes.

Alexis highlighted the foundation's active engagement with the community, noting collaborations with the MLK committee to assist residents in improving their credit and accessing homebuyer support. The foundation has also conducted workshops, including a unique real estate and Bible study session, to foster community involvement and education.

In addition to these initiatives, Alexis mentioned that the foundation has successfully built 31 homes and has hired five counselors dedicated to serving the Lake Wells community. The foundation's leadership has been making frequent trips to the area, demonstrating their dedication to local residents.
