County extends crucial funding for sexual assault task force

The grant will fund three investigators from the prosecutor's office, one paralegal, one administrative assistant, and one site coordinator.

In another significant discussion, the committee addressed a retroactive amendment to a contract with Continental CAF, LLC, also known as Canteen Corrections, for commissary services in adult jails. The current contract, which is set to expire at the end of the month, has been in place while awaiting approval. The transition to a new service provider, Summit Food, is planned, with Summit set to take over both food and commissary services in the new jail. The committee confirmed that Summit is working on a plan to ensure a smooth handover of operations, including the potential transfer of some Canteen employees to maintain staffing levels.
