During a recent meeting of the BK Development Board, representatives from HCI presented an ambitious proposal for a health and fitness festival, dubbed \"Fit Fest,\" scheduled for September. The event aims to promote health and wellness within the Bee Cave community and attract visitors from across Central Texas.
Katie Kaufman, general manager of HCI, and CFO Sarah Kaufman outlined the festival's vision, emphasizing the importance of fostering a healthier community. With approximately 220 employees, many of whom reside locally, and a membership base of around 7,000, HCI is positioned as a central player in the local fitness landscape.
The festival is designed to create a collaborative platform for local health and wellness businesses, featuring a \"Fitfest Village\" that will showcase various organizations, from medical services to health food vendors. The event will include multiple fitness stages, offering a range of activities such as yoga and strength training, and will also feature a dedicated kids' zone with bounce houses and supervised activities.
In addition to fitness activities, the festival will provide opportunities for local businesses to promote their services and products, with swag bags and food options that emphasize health-conscious choices. Live music and entertainment will enhance the festival atmosphere, making it a vibrant community gathering.
The HCI team is also considering logistical aspects, including parking solutions and potential shuttle services to accommodate attendees. The board expressed support for the initiative, recognizing its potential to position Bee Cave as a destination for health and wellness activities.
