The Miami Township Fire Department reported successful coordination efforts regarding hospital diversion and the placement of carbon monoxide detectors in EMS vehicles. The meeting also highlighted the start of the school year, with the Three Rivers School District welcoming students back on August 14. The district celebrated a positive first week, culminating in a home football game against Talawanda, which will feature a pep rally and a special recognition for Martha Heath, a former teacher and coach, whose name will be honored on the basketball floor for the next 20 years.
Financial updates were shared, revealing that the district has successfully refunded bonds, projected to save taxpayers approximately $800,000.
