Richland County launches ambitious soccer complex project

The Richland County Board of Commissioners convened recently, with all members present, including Clerk Stacy Kral and Assistant Clerk Heather Tolman. The meeting featured key updates on a significant infrastructure project aimed at enhancing the county's wastewater management system.

Administrator Andrew Keller introduced a comprehensive 64-page plan, the culmination of a year and a half of design work, which has been shared with the commissioners. This plan is part of a larger 555-page contract package that will soon be made available to prospective contractors. The project, developed in collaboration with the village of Belleville and the YMCA, is focused on establishing a soccer complex that will be ready to connect to the sewer service as soon as it becomes operational.

Keller emphasized the project's importance, describing it as foundational for the anticipated development and growth in the area. He expressed confidence that the project would attract interest from contractors, highlighting the commissioners' commitment to fostering industry and business within Richland County.

Wastewater Director Amanda Miller also expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts that have propelled the project forward, underscoring the significance of teamwork in achieving such ambitious infrastructure goals.
