During a recent government meeting, officials reflected positively on the success of the July 4th celebrations, which included a block party, parade, and fireworks display. City leaders expressed gratitude to key personnel, including Police Chief Roman, Fire Chief Williams, Public Works Director Terry Adkins, and Parks and Recreation Director Chris Barker, for their contributions to the event's smooth execution.
Despite a brief monsoon, feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive. However, it was noted that approximately 40 additional fireworks were launched after the main show due to misfires, a common occurrence attributed to damp fuses. City officials reassured the public that this was not an intentional second display but rather a necessary measure to clear out fireworks that failed to ignite during the initial show.
Looking ahead, the city is gearing up for its next event, the Bluegrass and Brew festival, scheduled for August 2nd from 4 PM to 10 PM, inviting the community to participate in the festivities.
