Residents of North Stockport Drive voiced urgent concerns during a recent government meeting regarding the deteriorating condition of a crucial bridge that has served their community for decades. The bridge, which has been in place for 25 to 40 years, is reportedly failing on its west side, raising alarms about accessibility and safety for the six households on one side and five on the other.

One resident, who has lived in the area for 20 years, highlighted the lack of alternative routes, stating that the only access to their homes is through Jackson. The resident emphasized that without repairs, emergency services may refuse to cross the bridge, posing a significant risk to the elderly population living in the area, all of whom are over 65 years old. The bridge's current state has already led to the denial of recycling services, as the recycling truck will not traverse the one-lane, gravel structure.
