Granville Health System officials provided a comprehensive update on their operations during a recent government meeting, highlighting key statistics and future initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the region. CEO Adam McConnell and EMS Director Jonathan Purnell presented an overview of the health system's performance, staffing, and facilities.
Granville Health System employs approximately 600 staff members, including 240 medical professionals, with 83 actively providing services. The facility operates a 62-bed licensed hospital, currently staffing 42 beds, and has seen a steady average of 25 to 30 patients overnight. Last fiscal year, the emergency room recorded over 24,000 visits, while the operating room handled more than 45,100 cases across various specialties, including urology and orthopedics.
The health system also boasts an 80-bed skilled nursing facility and multiple primary care and specialty clinics. Notably, Granville Health System received a four-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and recognized Thomas from the radiology department as Employee of the Year for his exemplary patient care.
Financially, the health system reported revenues nearing $90 million against expenses of $88.5 million, resulting in a modest operating margin of 1.57%. Looking ahead, Granville Health System plans to enhance access to care by opening an ambulatory surgery facility and upgrading imaging equipment.
