During a recent government meeting, several key announcements were made regarding upcoming events and community initiatives in Woodstock.
The September 16th mayor and council work session has been canceled, allowing for a brief pause in regular council activities. In remembrance of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the City of Woodstock will hold a Day of Remembrance ceremony on Wednesday, September 11, at 7 PM at the Park at City Center. This event marks the 23rd anniversary of the attacks and aims to honor those lost and recognize the servicemen and women who continue to protect freedom.
Additionally, the Woodstock Summer Concert Series will feature Eddie Montgomery of the duo Montgomery and Gentry on Saturday, September 14, promising an entertaining evening for attendees. Concert details can be found at woodstockconcertseries.com.
The meeting also highlighted the upcoming second public input meeting for the Dupree Park master plan, scheduled for September 10 at 7 PM. This session will provide an opportunity for community members to review how their feedback has been integrated into the draft plan developed by Lowe's design team.
These announcements reflect the city's ongoing commitment to community engagement and remembrance, as well as its efforts to provide recreational opportunities for residents.
