Maricopa teens showcase talent to fund college tours

Kiana Early Palafox, founder and director of the Maricopa debutante organization, announced an upcoming fundraiser event titled \"Maricopa Dubs Got Talent,\" scheduled for August 30 at the CAC campus. The event will showcase the talents of 18 local teenagers, including singers, dancers, and artists, as they aim to raise funds for college and job preparation initiatives. Tickets are priced at $5 for attendees aged ten and up, and $2 for younger children. The funds will support the organization’s efforts to provide free materials and meals for participants, as well as facilitate college tours to local universities.

Palafox emphasized the importance of community involvement, urging residents to attend and support the youth. The event will feature a judging panel, including local figure Henry Wade, and promises to be an engaging showcase of talent.

In a related announcement, Dr. John and Mayenne Push introduced \"Kids Day Maricopa,\" set for September 21 at Maricopa Wells Middle School. This free event will focus on health, safety, and environmental awareness for children, offering free admission, food, drinks, and toys. With around 100 activities planned, the event will include a celebration of Smokey Bear's 80th birthday, safety courses by local police and fire departments, and educational sessions on water conservation. The community is invited to participate in this family-friendly event, which aims to provide fun and informative experiences for children.
