During a recent government meeting, Paul Askew presented his appeal against the approval of a variance for an 8-foot tall fence along the side yard of a neighboring property. Askew, a resident of Bear Lake Road, expressed concerns that the fence would obstruct views of the lake and open air from his backyard, potentially diminishing both his enjoyment of his property and its overall value.
Referencing the Seminole County Land Development Code, Askew emphasized that variances should only be granted when they do not adversely affect neighboring properties. He argued that the proposed fence would indeed be harmful, impacting not only his own property but also the surrounding area.
To support his case, Askew submitted photographs for review, requesting assistance with an overhead projector to present his evidence. The Board of Adjustment acknowledged the need to retain his documentation for the record, indicating that the appeal process would continue with careful consideration of the concerns raised.
