The upcoming community event promises a day filled with excitement, featuring a variety of food and merchandise vendors, culminating in a dance from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. with music by Jonathan Castillo and the Profundo, playing a mix of country, classic rock, and Tejano music. Tickets for the dance are priced at $20 per person, with proceeds aimed at supporting the Dalhart Soccer League.
The event will also host a truck show, with registration fees contributing directly to the soccer league. Attendees can register via the event's Facebook page or by filling out a form. The truck show will feature several categories for trophy prizes, including best show, working class, classic truck, and people's choice, among others. Organizers expressed enthusiasm about participation from vendors in Amarillo, including Bruckners and Chrome Shop Mafia, indicating a strong regional interest.
Currently, there are over 40 trucks registered for the show, with space available for more. Additionally, around 25 to 30 vendors are expected to participate. The event aims to raise funds for a future sports complex, which would not only benefit soccer but also accommodate other youth sports activities year-round.
The meeting also highlighted the growing interest in local youth sports, with over 350 kids participating this year, and neighboring communities like Stratford and Dumas expressing interest in joining the league next year. Organizers are optimistic that the event will foster community spirit and support for local youth sports initiatives.
