In a recent government meeting, the Vero Beach All Stars 10U baseball team was celebrated for their remarkable achievement as the 2024 Florida State Champions. This victory marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time in over 26 years that a team from Florida has claimed the under-10 championship in Little League. Commissioner Lohr expressed pride in the team's accomplishments, highlighting their journey through various competitions, including a strong performance at the Southeast Regional Championship in Wilson, North Carolina.

Coaches Partee and Williams, along with the young athletes, shared their experiences, detailing their path from district play in Port St. Lucie to their championship win against Niceville. The team’s success is seen as a foundation for future achievements, with hopes of continued growth in the coming years.

Commissioners discussed the Indian River County SHIP Grama 2024 Annual Report, which highlighted the program's impact in the community. A representative reported that the program had successfully assisted 41 households, expending over $1 million to support local residents.
