Andrew Ngumba, division chief for civil maintenance at LA County Public Works, provided an update on the county's response to the situation, which has deteriorated over the past few days.

Ngumba reported that the county has been actively addressing the problems, having visited the area multiple times to repair seawall infrastructure. The initial pumping schedule was set on a weekly basis, but due to increasing damage, a more frequent response is now deemed necessary. Starting tomorrow, a bypass line will be installed to manage sewage flow from approximately 20 homes, as one of the manholes has sunk below street level, complicating the sewage removal process.
