During a recent government meeting, the spotlight shone brightly on Parker Carroll, a third-grade student celebrated for her artistic talent. Principal Kelly Parks opened the session by emphasizing the significance of the occasion, inviting attendees to acknowledge the young artist and her family.

Parker was selected to represent her school and the broader region of North Carolina in an esteemed art show organized by the North Carolina Art Education Association in collaboration with the North Carolina General Assembly. Her artwork will be displayed for an entire year, alongside pieces from 18 other students ranging from kindergarten to high school, showcasing the diverse talents of young artists across the state.

Art teacher Amanda Aguayo, who serves on the board for the art show, highlighted the competitive nature of the selection process, noting that Parker was chosen from a pool of approximately 20 candidates.
