Prescott Valley honors heroes with Patriot Week proclamation

The town of Prescott Valley has officially proclaimed September 7th to 13th, 2024, as \"Healing Fields of Northern Arizona Patriot Week,\" honoring the memory of those lost in the September 11, 2001, attacks. The proclamation, delivered by Mayor Pagoda, emphasizes the enduring spirit of community, patriotism, and remembrance that has emerged from the tragedy.

During the meeting, Mayor Pagoda highlighted the importance of honoring the sacrifices made by individuals and families affected by the events of 9/11, as well as those who contributed to recovery efforts. He called for community participation in the upcoming events, which will include the placement of flags at the Prescott Valley Healing Fields, a ceremony on Patriot Day, and a blessing at the field.

The week will commence with the installation of flags on September 6th, followed by a series of commemorative events, including a ceremony at 6 PM on September 11th. The flags will be taken down on September 14th. Community members are encouraged to volunteer and participate in these meaningful activities, reinforcing the message of unity and remembrance.
