Tensions flare during school tour as confrontation erupts

In a recent board meeting, a public record request statement regarding a school tour led by new board member Don King on December 1, 2023, was discussed. According to Hasselbrock, the tour began around 10:45 AM, with Pat Mead arriving early to greet staff. However, tensions escalated when a large man, later identified as Mrs. King's husband, confronted Ed Rowe outside the front door. Witnesses reported hearing loud shouting, with the man appearing hostile and agitated. Concern for Ed's safety prompted staff members to pay close attention to the situation, fearing potential violence due to the man's aggressive demeanor.

Hasselbrock noted that the shouting ceased abruptly, and the man left the scene in a red pickup truck shortly thereafter. Following the incident, Pat Mead returned inside to reassure staff that the situation was under control and that he would continue with the tour.
