City earns prestigious award for community improvement project

During the recent government meeting, the council approved the installation of three trash compactors in downtown parking lots, with a budget not exceeding $22,061. The motion, proposed by Councilmember Pettingill and seconded by Councilmember Schmeik, passed unanimously without further discussion.

In the latter part of the meeting, Manager Gamolca, speaking as a member of the public, highlighted a significant achievement for the city. The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) awarded Brighton and Giffles Webster the Quality of Life Award for their main streetscape project. This recognition was given for the project's positive impact on the local community while maintaining environmental integrity.
