Megaladome Golf is set to revolutionize the golfing experience with its innovative indoor facility designed to provide year-round play, regardless of weather conditions. The project features state-of-the-art climate control and advanced simulation technology that offers real-time feedback, closely mimicking the experience of playing on an outdoor course.
The facility will consist of three domes, each designed to accommodate a variety of skill levels and golfing styles. Dome 1 includes three holes—a par 4 and two par 3s—while Dome 2 features four par 3 holes, some of which are designed with sand traps and water hazards. Dome 3 rounds out the offering with two par 4 holes, allowing golfers to utilize their drivers in a realistic setting.
With a total of 50 driving bays and unique putting and chipping areas, the facility emphasizes a comprehensive golfing experience. The domes are engineered to withstand winds of up to 120 miles per hour, ensuring safety and durability in the Chicago area.
The clubhouse, a contemporary 8,000 square foot glass structure, will provide a visual connection between the indoor golfing environment and the outdoor Midwestern landscape. It will include a bar, lounge area, and locker room facilities, enhancing the overall experience for visitors.
Megaladome Golf anticipates attracting approximately 290,000 visitors annually, which translates to around 193,000 vehicles. A traffic study will be conducted to manage the impact on local roadways. The facility will operate seven days a week from 6 a.m. to midnight, catering to both peak and off-peak hours.
In addition to recreational play, the facility aims to partner with local schools and universities, providing students with opportunities to practice year-round in a lifelike environment. This initiative seeks to level the playing field for northern schools, which often face disadvantages due to seasonal weather conditions.
Megaladome Golf promises to be a versatile venue for corporate events, fundraisers, and private gatherings, allowing activities typically reserved for outdoor settings to be enjoyed throughout the year.
