A proposed development project, Oswego Grama, was presented at a recent government meeting, outlining plans for a commercial complex that includes a gas station, car wash, grocery store, and general retail space. The project, which will also allocate approximately four acres for a religious institution, is set to be located adjacent to the Wekaduke Trail, with a dedicated 140 feet of right-of-way.
Mike Schoppe of Schoppe Design Associates introduced the project on behalf of developer Mohammed Hussain, who was unable to attend due to commitments in Dubai. Schoppe explained that Hussain acquired the 160-acre property from the Oster family in December and has since engaged in extensive research regarding zoning, land use, and utilities to prepare for the development.
The meeting served as a platform for the planning commission and village board to provide initial feedback on the project before further development plans are finalized. Schoppe emphasized the importance of community input in shaping the project, inviting attendees to share their thoughts and concerns.
As the project moves forward, the developers aim to ensure that the development aligns with community needs and expectations, setting the stage for future discussions and planning sessions.
