The Albertsons Boise Open is set to celebrate its 35th anniversary this year, with a series of events scheduled from August 19 to 25. The tournament, which has raised an impressive $36 million for charity since its inception, aims to match its recent contributions of $3 million for the upcoming year.

David Babcock, a long-time organizer of the event, highlighted the significance of the tournament not only for professional golf but also for the local community. The event will primarily take place at Hillcrest Country Club, featuring a Pro-Am tournament and various social gatherings throughout the week.

The schedule includes a Pro-Am shotgun start on Monday, followed by a gala dinner that evening, expected to draw around 800 attendees. The official tournament kicks off on Thursday, with 156 professionals from the Korn Ferry Tour competing. Concerts featuring Jon Pardi, Daryl Hall, and the Goo Goo Dolls will entertain attendees on consecutive nights.

Sunday will be designated as Junior Day, offering discounted tickets and free admission for children under 15, along with numerous activities aimed at families. Organizers anticipate attendance of approximately 5,000 to 6,000 people each day during the tournament, underscoring the event's popularity and community engagement.

Traffic and parking plans have been established to accommodate the expected influx of visitors, ensuring a smooth experience for attendees. The Albertsons Boise Open continues to be a cornerstone of the local sporting calendar, fostering community spirit and charitable giving.
