The Carson City School District has reached out to the Parks Department to adjust the lot lines, allowing for a more efficient use of land adjacent to the school.

This proposal was presented to the Parks and Recreation Commission in April 2024, which subsequently recommended its approval to the Board of Supervisors. Superintendent AJ Fuehling addressed community concerns regarding public access to the newly created park space. Fuehling clarified that while some school grounds are locked after hours, the expectation is that the new area will remain open to the public when school is not in session.
