Youth sports leagues thrive with record participation this season
The ongoing Summersand Volleyball League, which commenced on May 5, features seven teams competing over a span of seven weeks on Sunday nights. Organizers are currently developing a game plan for postseason play as the season progresses.

In addition to volleyball, the Texoma Soccer Association (TSA) successfully facilitated soccer seasons for both youth and adult leagues from March 9 to May 5. This season, TSA hosted a total of 1,016 players at THF Park, comprising 833 residents of Denison and 183 non-residents. The association also organized twelve tournaments at THF Park's ball fields, which included two combined baseball-softball tournaments, six baseball tournaments, and four softball tournaments.

The Denison Youth Sports baseball season kicked off on March 14 and is currently in the postseason All-Star phase. Games are being held at THF, Waterloo, and Munson Fields, with participation from 318 players across various divisions, including six U, eight U, ten U, twelve U, 14 U, and buddy ball. Of these players, 296 are residents of Denison, while 22 are non-residents.

Furthermore, collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club has led to the establishment of a softball league and T-ball league this spring, which began on April 2. This program includes divisions for T-ball, six U, eight U, ten U, twelve U, and 15 U players, contributing to the vibrant youth sports landscape in the community.
