A federal judge has ordered former Trump adviser Steve Bannon to report to prison by July 1st to serve a four-month sentence for his contempt of Congress conviction. This ruling means Bannon could be incarcerated during a significant portion of the lead-up to the November elections. Bannon has indicated he may appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
In a separate legal matter, testimony was heard in Hunter Biden's criminal trial from Halle Biden, the widow of Hunter's late brother Beau. Halle, who was romantically involved with Hunter after Beau's death, discussed her role in disposing of the gun central to the case. She testified about both her and Hunter's struggles with drug use but stated she never witnessed him using drugs around the time he purchased the firearm in 2018. Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to charges alleging he failed to disclose his drug use during the gun purchase.
Additionally, President Biden stated in an interview with ABC News that he would not consider pardoning his son if convicted.
