City Council Approves Major Park Expansion and Renovation Plans

During the design phase, a structural issue was identified with a failing wall at the center, necessitating repairs. Initially estimated at $37,000, the cost was later reduced to $25,000 after discussions to exclude the addition of an elevator. However, some council members expressed concerns about the cost, suggesting that local contractors might offer more competitive pricing. A motion was made to negotiate the amendment down to a maximum of $15,000, which was approved by the council.

The meeting also included a request for a change order not to exceed $70,000 for additional work on the Cane Creek Substation Improvement Project, which was previously approved. This request was also met with approval from the council, ensuring that necessary enhancements to the electrical infrastructure can proceed.
