During a recent government meeting, the Flower Mound Library celebrated the achievements of participants in its summer reading program, recognizing their dedication to literacy and learning. Library Director Rachel Hadidi presented an overview of the program, highlighting its success in engaging the community.
This year, the program saw over 2,700 participants who collectively read an impressive total of more than 2.5 million minutes. In addition to reading, participants explored various genres, including nonfiction, arts and crafts, and sciences, fostering a diverse range of interests among young readers.
The library also distributed over 2,700 books to children as part of the initiative, further promoting literacy and encouraging a love for reading. The recognition of these achievements underscores the library's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and community involvement in Flower Mound.
