City approves major expansion for popular waterfront restaurant

During a recent government meeting, officials convened to discuss several agenda items, beginning with the approval of minutes from the previous meeting held on June 11. The minutes were unanimously approved after a motion and a second were made, with no further discussion.

The primary focus of the meeting was a request for a final aesthetic review concerning a building expansion at 997 South Palafox Street, currently home to Jaco's Bayfront Bar and Grill. S and P Architecture presented the proposal, which aims to enhance the establishment by adding more kitchen space, a covered outdoor area, and new landscaping. The owner of Jaco's was present in person, while the architectural team participated via a virtual platform.

This expansion is expected to improve the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the venue, contributing positively to the local dining scene. Further discussions on the proposal are anticipated as the project moves forward.
