Emergency operations have been in full swing around the clock since the onset of the recent storm, with local rescue teams successfully conducting over 55 water rescues. A total of 210 individuals and two horses were saved by a collaborative effort involving fire, police, sheriff, and county rescue water teams.
Officials expressed gratitude for the dedication and hard work of these teams during the challenging conditions. The community's call center has also been instrumental, managing over 2,200 calls in the past 72 hours, which included 800 emergency and 900 non-emergency inquiries.
In light of the severe weather, flood management teams reported that they effectively handled what was classified as a hundred-year flood event, underscoring the significant impact of the storm on the region.
