SunRail prepares for daily commuter surge with new schedule

In a recent government meeting, officials discussed the anticipated passenger count for the SunRail service, estimating daily ridership between 100 to 500 visitors. The train is scheduled to operate Monday through Friday, from 5:30 AM to 11 PM, with peak commute times featuring trains every 30 minutes and midday service every hour. Currently, there is no weekend service, but officials noted the possibility of contracting SunRail for special events, such as the upcoming Fall Festival of the Arts, to provide weekend transportation. This flexibility could enhance accessibility for community events, fostering greater public engagement with local activities.
